Estadio Corona is the home stadium for Club Santos Laguna. If Mexico were to host the 2018 World Cup, the stadium's capacity would be expanded by 10,000 in order to have a total capacity of 38,000 since, upon completion in 2009, it will have a limited standard capacity of 30,000, and 20,000 for special events. The stadium will cost MXN$1,030 billion[citation needed]. The stadium replaced the older Estadio Corona, built in 1970 with a capacity of just 20,000. The stadium is located on the Territorio Santos Modelo.

First Stage

It is anticipated that in its first phase and completion of this process, has a capacity for over 30,000 spectators.
