Applied Physics B: Lasers & Optics is a peer-reviewed academic journals focused on applied physics. It was created in 1981, after the split of Applied Physics in two (the other journal is Applied Physics A: Materials Science & Processing).
The journal featured original research papers, reviews, and a 'rapid communication' section for the quick diffusion of new results or news relevant to applied physics. It is published every two weeks by Springer. In addition, one extra issue is published quarterly to allow for topical issues. Four issues constitute one volume, and four volumes are published per year.
