Brian Thompson (born August 28, 1959) is an American actor. His distinctive square-jaw profile, powerful voice, and imposing stature (190.5 cm, six-foot-two) has led him to star in many action films, and surprisingly large number of comedies: Joe Dirt, The Three Amigos, Weird Science, Key West & Mel Brooks Life Stinks.

Thompson was born in Ellensburg, Washington son of two teachers, Bert & Lois.[1] His first role was playing one of the punks who are killed by Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in The Terminator at the beginning of the film. His second role was as the Night Slasher, the twisted leader of a cult of serial killers in Cobra alongside action star Sylvester Stallone. The same year, Thompson played a nasty German in John Landis' comedy Three Amigos. Thompson also appeared as Russel in the 1990 action film Lionheart, and as Buffalo Bob in the 2001 comedy film Joe Dirt, starring David Spade. In the 1990 film, Hired To Kill, he got to kiss Oliver Reed.[citation needed]

Thompson has also appeared in a wide variety of television shows, including 8 seasons on the The X-Files (as an alien bounty hunter); the pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and "The Harvest" as Luke, disciple of The Master, and also as the Judge in two episodes from Season Two, "Surprise" and "Innocence"; Kindred: The Embraced (as Eddie Fiori, the leader of the Brujah clan); and Charmed (as both War from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Titan Cronos). Thompson has also appeared in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (as the warlord Goth) as well as Hercules himself in Jason and the Argonauts. Thompson appears in the Star Trek franchises Star Trek: Enterprise (as Romulan admiral Valdore), Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and the film Star Trek Generations. He played the role of Tenctonese Trent Porter in the film Alien Nation. Thompson also appeared in the video game inspired movie Mortal Kombat: Annihilation as the Emperor Shao Kahn.

Cast as a more fatherly figure, Thompson starred in the family film, Tillamook Treasure as Uncle Jimmy, a rough Oregon logger.

Thompson lives in Los Angeles and has recently produced a feature comedy, Action Hero.
