Devlet Hatun (died in 1411) was the wife of Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I and the mother of Sultan Mehmed I. However, she was not Valide Sultan to her son because she died before his accession to the throne.[1] She was the daughter of Yakub Shah of Germiyan; or according to some sources, she was the daughter of Serbian noble Prince Lazar[citation needed] and married Bayezid I after the Battle of Kosovo of 1389. Her Christian name was Mara or Olivera.[citation needed]
