Ryan Sohmer (born (1978-07-05)July 5, 1978) writes the webcomics Least I Could Do and Looking for Group, is the Vice President/Creative Director of Blind Ferret Entertainment[1] and is the owner of a comic book store in Montreal, Quebec called The 4th Wall. He lives in Montreal, Quebec, with his wife, Sue.

Least I Could Do

Least I Could Do (LICD) is a comedic slice-of-life webcomic that began on February 10th, 2003. It was initially published in black and white and updated five days a week, but has now moved on to being a full-color strip published seven days a week[2] with the inclusion of the Sunday strip, Least I Could Do Beginnings which debuted on November 9th, 2008[3]. Ryan is one of the small number of professional web cartoonists, as he, his artistic partner Lar DeSouza, his business partner Randy Waxman and over a dozen full and part-time employees make all or part of their living from LICD and LFG.[4]

Looking for Group

Looking for Group (LFG) is a comedic fantasy webcomic that began on November 6th, 2006[5], and is drawn by his artistic partner, Lar DeSouza. It is published in full-color comic book page format and updates twice a week. Along with LICD, this webcomic helps to employ Sohmer, DeSouza, and the other employees of Blind Ferret Entertainment full-time.

Honors

Sohmer has been nominated for two Harvey Awards in 2009 for Humor in Comics and Best On-Line Comics Work[6], as well as the Joe Shuster Award for Webcomics in 2009[7] and was the co-winner of the 2008 Shuster Award for Webcomics Creator/Creative Team[8] along with his artistic partner, Lar DeSouza.
