We are Gehlots - now pronounced at gahlowt. However my grandfather and his grandparents were based out of Ballia, a small town in east UP. We are also Rajputs - however I am unsure of our linkages to the Chittor gehlots..

Could we have been part of a group that migrated to UP after fall of Chittor? Can someone help on this.

Pronounciation

The pronounciation (long "a" like "wand") is not very helpful. I am English, and "wand" has a shot vowel for me! It would be better to use the phonetic alphabet. Bazza1971 (talk) 16:36, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
