The Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology was founded by Dr. Ashok Chitkara in 1998. It is located in Chandigarh, India.

Chitkara Institute of Engineering & Technology is approved[citation needed] by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated[citation needed] to Punjab Technical University. Programs offered include Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. A three-year Master of Computer Applications is also offered.

Students have been placed[citation needed] in organizations such as Infosys, Satyam, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hewlett Packard, etc.

The school claims[citation needed] almost 100% placement record for the first 2 batches.

The school also claims[citation needed] that it has 100% placement record of the 2006 and 2007 batch of Engineering graduates with average salary of Rs.2.5 lacs and Rs.2.88 lacs.

The school also claims[citation needed] that of a batch of 360 Engineering students graduating in June 2008, 267 students have already been placed till April 2007.
