The Trip Day-by-Day
Day 1 - Portsmouth
Originally Aired: 15 February 2010
The series started off with Brendan describing how exciting the new series will be with it being 50 days and the places that they will visit. The coach started in Croydon, London. With the coach heading off to Portsmouth, the general reaction from the trippers was disappointment as in previous series the coach normally heads straight of to Europe. On the way, some couples introduced themselves with Ray telling all about his hobby - equestrianism - which was perceived as boring. The first activity was to go to the Spinnaker Tower which overlooked the docks. This is where Danny shared a joke about dry docks with Ray about dry docks. However, Ray didn't get the joke and instead shared his knowledge about dry docks with Danny and his partner, Carol. Again, Danny found this boring. The younger passengers walked across the walk of death with Tam and Brendan doing a roll across it. Many of the couples found the tower boring. In between the activities, Brendan gave the couples their last British meal which was fish and chips. The second activity was sailing. Jenny didn't take part of this activity because she was scared of water. Again, most of the contestants didn't find the sailing activity exciting. At the vote, Ray and Glenys got the most votes mainly because they didn't get to know the others.
Day 2 - Caen/Bayeux
Originally Aired: 16 February 2010
The ferry arrived in Saint-Malo early in the day. Some of the couples had hoped they were in Saint-Tropez. The group travelled to a World War II museum in Caen. After Brendan announced this to the group, Jayson and Raymond had a short conversation about who Britain fought in each of the World Wars. At the museum, the group had a look at some of the weapons used during the war and Jayson decided that the Germans had better uniforms for the soldiers than the British. Then, the group travelled in a 1940s war truck around the area.
In the afternoon, the coach travelled to Bayeux, where the couples took part in an archery activity. Most of the group are confused about how to use the bows and arrows. Matt and Paul won an archery competition. Raymond and Glenys received their second yellow card at the vote and were asked to leave the Coach. Glenys was visibly very upset about this and snubbed many of the group's goodbyes, however she later exchanged goodbyes with Madge and Jenny.
Day 3 - Le Mans
Originally Aired: 17 February 2010
The group visited the Le Mans racing circuit home to the famous 24 hour motor racing. The group got asked to leave the racing circuit because of dangerous driving. Brendan' said that "this is the 1st time on The Coach Trip that we got asked leave".
Day 4 - Chevreuse/Paris Part 1
Originally Aired: 18 February 2010
The grooup went horse riding in Chevreuse, then arrived in Paris where they had horsemeat for lunch, which made several people including Brendan uncomfortable. They then learned the Can-Can at a dance club.
Day 5 - Paris Part 2
Originally Aired: 19 February 2010
The day started with a walk around Paris' streets. Brendan got lost on the way to the Eiffel Tower, but the eventually arrived. Sel has a fear of heights so was scared about going up the tower. They took some pictures of the tower whilst Brendan gave the group some history on it. When they got to the entrance, Brendan had received some priority by going up in a different lift. However, the guides ignored the group a lot and as Brendan said "very unwelcoming." After a long wait they reached the first level of the tower where Sel waited in a Café.
The group were then told that only three people were allowed to the very top floor which again annoyed Brendan a lot. The three chosen to go up were Brenda, Paul and Jenny where the trio described the French people as "bad mannered" and "obnoxious." Shelia went back to Sel and persuaded him to fight his fear of heights and he went to see the view on the first floor of the tower. After that the group headed to a café and purchased hot dogs and baguettes for dinner. They sat down to eat near the Eiffel Tower where Danny proposed to Carol and she said "No." Whilst on their way to their activity Brendan pointed out some landmarks including the Arc de Triomphe and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The group arrived at their activity which was Fencing and were split up into two teams. Danny, Carol, Jayson, Madge, Brenda and Tam were all in the team who won. At the vote with 3 votes against them, Brenda and Madge received their first yellow card.
Day 6 - Chablis
Originally Aired: 22 February 2010
The day started with some rock-climbing and then zip wiring for the group. Then they had a picnic and they had some Champagne. Then they go for wine tasting which is less of a success because they all taste the same. At the vote Carol & Danny got another yellow card which turned to a red one so they had to leave the coach.
Day 7 - Dijon
Originally Aired: 23 February 2010
The day started with the trip to Dijon, they had a practise on Segways where people crashed into each other. They then travelled on the Segways to a local restaurant. After that they visited the Moutarde de Dijon where a local man gave information about the mustard making process and the history. Then they visited the actual factory where the mustard is made. In couples, they had to make their own mustard. At the vote Sel & Shelia and Brenda & Madge had 3 votes up which ended up a tie. In the end, Sel and Shelia got their first yellow card.
Day 9 - Lausanne
Originally Aired: 25 February 2010
The day started earlier than usual in the morning. On the coach, Brendan introduced the new couple Lloyd and Anita who replaced Carol and Danny. The group travelled to Switzerland for the first time. For the groups first activity Brendan had planned a Cable Car trip up to the very top of the mountain in Switzerland, but because of bad weather they shut all of the Cable Cars and ski area was closed. When the group go for lunch two of tourists got quite drunk and made fools of themselves, Jayson Daniels made a display of tears at missing his boyfriend, revealed on his own blog to be an attempt to hog the cameras and boost his flagging profile as he wants to be a TV Presenter. At the vote Sel & Sheila received another yellow card which turned into a red one so they had say their goodbye's to the rest of the group and leave the coach.
