Presious Passion (foaled March 5, 2003) is a multiple Grade I winning Thoroughbred racehorse best known for his wins in the United Nations Stakes (twice) and the Clement L. Hirsch Turf Championship Stakes.
Bred in the United States, he ran second in the 2009 Breeders' Cup Turf.
Trained by Mary Hartmann and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, the now 7-year-old is expected to compete in the $5 million Dubai Sheema Classic (UAE-I) on March 27 in Dubai.
Presious Passion is a gelding son of multiple Grade I winner Royal Anthem and the unraced mare, Princesa's Passion, who comes from an extended family of stakes winning horses. There is no sign of retirement for this exciting front runner. Presious Passion comes out of the gate and immediately opens up between a couple lengths or twenty, like he did in the 2009 United Nations. He then fights everyone in the stretch and usually prevails. Presious Passion has developed a very strong fan base of horseracing fans who enjoy his gritty performances on the track. One of his greatest fans is his trainer, Mary Hartmann, who has voiced praise of his unwillingness to lose, his gutsy stretch runs, and his resulting winning efforts saying, "He is not a cheap suitcase. He doesn't fold."
