Geography

Machhali Shahar is located at 25°41′N 82°25′E / 25.68°N 82.42°E / 25.68; 82.42[1]. It has an average elevation of 84 metres (275 feet). It has been assigned 222143 pincode by Indian postal services.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[2], Machhlishahr had a population of 22,943. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Machhlishahr has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 65%, and female literacy is 49%. In Machhlishahr, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. Represented in the U.P. State Assembly by MLA Subhash Pandey of the BSP.

History

Machhali Shahar was known as Machchhika Khand during the time of Gautam Buddha. It was one of the active places used by Budhhist monks (including Lord Gautam Buddha) during the period of Gautam Buddha.

Education

Machhali Shahar is one of the most competitive and growting town in education. Machhali Shahar also known as the town of successers. There are more competitive and moderator institutes situated in Machhali Shahar. 'Ideal Computer Academy' (July 2000-June 2008) was the best institute which creates advance competition in field of computer education. Now, there is more than 20 competitive institutes situated in Machhali Shahar. 'Madarsa Faizanul Uloom' and Inter College of Machhli Shahar are very famous teaching institutions of the town. Some of other schools with better education are Sarai Yusuf High School,Baby Care Convent, Public Children Highschool, R.D. Memorial School, Saraswati Shishu Mandir and St. Thomas School. Inter College, Machhali Shahar is the oldest college of the town. It is specially introduce for Intermediate education but it also provides BA and B.Ed degrees for female students.

Machhali Shahar is a modern town believing in growth with the world's latest technologies. Machhali Shahar is a town that made with the mixture of different religions, different pupils, different communities and different lifestyles.

Festivals

The biggest celebrations in Machhali Shahar are Eid-ul-Milad( which was founded by district's famous celric Late Moulana Mohammad omar Jafri) & Bharat Milap as yearly festival. Pupils also organise big celebrations on Eid-ul-Zuha, Eid-ul-Fitr, Holi, Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Shab-e-Barat and more other occasions. Visible excitement shows on Independence Day and Republic Day. This is the town, where all pupils, related with all regions, celebrates all the festivals joyfully with each other.
