Template:Chinese name Ye Li (simplified Chinese: 叶莉; traditional Chinese: 葉莉; pinyin: Yè Lì; born November 20, 1981 in Shanghai) is a Chinese professional basketball player who played for the China women's national basketball team at the 2004 Summer Olympics.[1]

Ye Li, 1.9 m (6 ft 3 in) tall, is married to Yao Ming, a center who plays for the NBA's Houston Rockets. Ye met Yao at the age of seventeen in 1998.[2] Ye initially rejected Yao's many requests to go on a date, but softened her rejections, especially after he gave her team pins from many participants of the 2000 Summer Olympics.[3] Ye married Yao on August 6, 2007.[4][5] The couple is expecting their first child, a daughter, in July 2010.[6]
