Tian Pengfei (born 16 August 1987) is a professional snooker player from the People's Republic of China.

Career

Tian reached the last 32 of the under-21 division of the IBSF World Snooker Championship in 2002. The following year, he reached the last 16 in the same tournament, and was the runner-up in the 2005 event, where he lost to Liang Wenbo. Tian finished seventh in the 2005/2006 Pontins International Open Series, winning two of the eight events.

At the 2006 Asian Games, Tian co-won two gold medals, in the pairs with Ding Junhui, and in the team discipline with Ding and Liang.

In his debut season on the professional circuit, Tian reached the last 32 of the Northern Ireland Trophy, beating Jamie Cope and Andy Hicks along the way. Tian lost to Shaun Murphy, 4–5, despite having initially led 3–0. In the Malta Cup, he reached the last 48, beating Dermot McGlinchey, Stuart Pettman and Jamie Cope. Pengfei lost to Nigel Bond, 3–5.

Tian was given a wildcard into the 2010 China Open in Bejing, where he beat Mark Davis in the Wildcard round, setting up a first round match against world number one Ronnie O'Sullivan. Tian recorded the greatest win of his career against the three times world champion, winning the match 5-3, with three of those, including the last, coming down to the final black. He will play Mark King in the second round on 1st April.
