Urgent Help For What?

Can someone clear up why they needed urgent help in 1910?

Translation of names

Just returned from Les Iles and find that this article certainly could be cleaned up -- perhaps the article in French is more detailed. I'm wondering about the translation of names. All place names on the islands are in french only (per Quebec policy and general usage). Although they may have english equivalents, they aren't normally used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mks113 (talkcontribs) 12:48, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coffin's Island, or Isle Royale, is the largest of the Magdalens, according to various gazetteers. --Wetman (talk) 03:16, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Au contraire, mon ami... English names are very much used by the English community on the islands! The fact that the government of Québec does not use them should not be seen as "not normally used." I believe that the use of English names is very much appropriate in an English-language article.QuebecoisTheologian (talk) 03:18, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How it formed and how it contributed to the little ice age of 1600's

The space rock smaller than the one that impacted Hudson Bay, impacted the Iles de la madeleine, which contributes to the deepest parts of Hudson Bay, Hudson strait st. lawrence river, the great lakes the location of Newfound Land; and separation of landmass called Meta Incognita from Quebec more specifically Ungava Bay.

The Impact created a flood, which became ice, and while the dust still settled, water froze, and now, the glaciers are the remains of this ice age. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arviatlands (talkcontribs) 16:56, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
