Erbil Governorate or Erbil Province ,Kurdish: Hawler, is one of the constituent governorates of the nation of Southern Kurdistan, It derives its name from the city of Arbil, which is also its capital .
The governorate of Erbil covers an area of Template:Km2 to mi2 with an estimated population (in 2003) of 1,314,000 people. It is largely populated by Kurds but has a small minority of Assyrians.
