Modern equipment of the British Army
[edit]No I did not check but then again I did not remove it. I created a new section of the article Infantry section equipment where this information was previously had nothing to do with small arms all you had to do was read the article. --Jim Sweeney (talk) 16:08, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Honourable Artillery Company
[edit]Hi there I thought I'd drop you a note to discuss this. I can't see why you reverted my simple and correct change of removing the "The" from the blue panel on our page.
Your comment was "(rv unref'd change to longstanding text)" however just because a text is longstanding it doesn't mean it is correct.
The name of the Regiment is "Honourable Artillery Company" and so the "The" is incorrect.
See also, by way of example, similar pages like:
Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers not "The Royal ...."
Grenadier Guards not "The Grenadier Guards ..."
However, The Blues and Royals are The Blues and Royals
I am in the HAC and have been for a long time, and, interestingly enough this has been brought up internally to correct notices and paperwork containing the incorrect "The" in titles of things.
Hope this clarifies things.
