Kim Glover is an English music manager best known for overseeing the careers of New Kids on The Block, Let Loose and B*witched, as well as helping to manage and develop the careers of Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, David Essex and others. She is also Chief Executive of Kim Glover Management based in London, which she founded in 1993.[citation needed]

Professional career

Glover started her career in 1978 at Magnet Records as part of the radio promotions team for Michael Levy (now Lord Levy of Magnet Records) handling artists such as Chris Rea, Darts, Matchbox and Bad Manners, where she was soon promoted to Head of TV and Radio.[citation needed]

With her reputation growing, Glover left in 1982 to set up her own independent radio and TV promotions company Girl Friday Promotions, where she promoted artists as diverse as Michael Jackson, The Cult, David Essex, Scritti Politti, Toyah, Love and Rockets, Orange Juice, Catcherpaya, Men at Work, Altered Images, Jimmy Nail, Icicle Works, Barry Manilow and Meat Loaf among others.[citation needed]

In 1987, Clive Davis, head of Arista Records chose her to plan and lead radio and TV promotion campaigns for the likes of Whitney Houston, Carly Simon, Taylor Dayne, The Four Tops, Kenny G, Dionne Warwick, Grateful Dead, Barry Manilow, Patti Smith, Lisa Stansfield, the Thompson Twins and the queen of soul Aretha Franklin.[citation needed]

After a year of handling the TV and radio promotions campaign for New Kids On The Block, their manager Dick Scott asked her to come on board with the management to fully keep moving forward the worldwide phenomenon that was taking place. Together Glover and Dick Scott set up the UK office in South Molton Street with a further office in Los Angeles alongside the office in Manhattan, New York. Together they also managed Snap, Tiffany, James Ingram, and Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch: opening the doors for Mark Wahlberg to become a top Hollywood actor, with his brother Donnie now following in his footsteps.

In recent years Glover has discovered and managed some of the UK's biggest and most successful groups including B*Witched - Ireland's most successful female group whose many record breaking achievements included 4 consecutive number 1's and selling more than 1 million copies of their debut album in the USA. Let Loose, managed by Kim Glover Management, whose phenomenally selling single "Crazy 4 U" was only kept off the top spot by the equally phenomenal 'Love Is All Around', internationally recognised Irish boy band D-Side[1], of whom Derek Moran has gone on to present kids' TV show Milkshake on Channel 5[2] and Dane Guiden has signed a new production deal with Edge AVENUE, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, Ignorants and PJ and Duncan whose pop career, co managed by Dave Holly, was the launch pad for Ant and Dec's continued success. In 2005 she set up an agency with business partner Samantha Forrest under Band and Brand. This platform helps new talent with a host of music and branding opportunities. One major project for a teen fragrance fragrance company - created a band as a promotion vehicle for the fragrance.City Girls[3]. Such was the success of the project that Glover and Forrest secured finance from an Icebreaker fund to record and release an album. Further involvement also came from other leading brands such as Hush Puppies and Ubisoft game Imagine Girlband with the City Girls featuring on a TV campaign with Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton. Other acts have also benefited from Kim Glover's pro-active management style and she has various acts signed to her for recording and publishing. Her connections with Ireland are still very strong with various projects ongoing and a move into classical cross-over is also an area she and Sam Forrest are developing with the signing of Daniel Grimwood [4].
