Template:Infobox Aust school private Pacific Lutheran College is a co-educational P-12 Lutheran College under the Lutheran Church of Australia. The school is located in Birtinya, Queensland. Pacific Lutheran College (PLC) currently caters for 700-800 students, after opening its gates in 2001 as one of the newest additions to the body of Christian Schools on the Sunshine Coast.

Curriculum

Pacific Lutheran College has a range of subjects across the senior school years, with more core, preparatory subjects offered in primary school. Pacific Lutheran College describes itself as a school with emphasis on Numeracy, Mathematics and the Sciences, while still encouraging culture, sport and other ventures for students. It seeks strong and visible involvement in the local community and a maintenance of Christian values lasting long after graduation for the student body.

Facilities

Pacific Lutheran College's facilities are modern and many facilities are less than a few years old. The school features an entire block dedicated to Preparatory School with playground, several science laboratories, a state-of-the-art technology and manual arts studio, several computer laboratories, 4 basketball courts, 2 sporting fields, large oval/playing area, and several other blocks for ordinary classrooms. The school owns another 10 hectares of land in the surrounding area which will be developed as the school grows.

Sports

Pacific Lutheran College is a member of the Sunshine Coast Independent Schools' Sports Association (SCISSA) and as such participates in a range of sports including soccer, rugby union (boys only), basketball, surfing, kayaking, swimming, water volleyball, touch football, netball (girls only) and athletics (track and field) for students depending on the season (summer or winter). Pacific Lutheran competes against local Christian colleges such as Sunshine Coast Grammar School, Good Shepard Lutheran College, Immanuel Lutheran College, Noosa Christian College, Caloundra Christian College, St. Andrews Anglican College and Uniting College

Criticism

Pacific Lutheran College has received much criticism from it's lack thereof regarding student dress policies. Many may argue that the College cares more about the student dress code than it's education, as it does not perform very well (as seen on MySchools website). A fine example of this is the policy which dictates that if Male's hair is below earlobe level, they will be sent home.
