Seydou Doumbia (born 31 December 1987) is an Ivorian footballer who plays for BSC Young Boys as a forward. He will join CSKA Moscow prior to the 2010–11 season after signing a pre-contract agreement with the club on 4 January 2010.

Career

Doumbia has spent most of his career to date playing as a striker.[1]

After playing in Cote d'Ivoire and Japan, Doumbia signed with BSC Young Boys in the Swiss Super League in 2008. He made a lasting impact, finishing top scorer in the league for his two seasons there. In the 2008-09 season, he scored 20 goals. In the 2009-10 season he scored 30 goals, nine more than his nearest rival, and the most league goals by any African footballer in Europe (one ahead of fellow Ivorian Didier Drogba). In both his years at Young Boys, they finished second in the league, qualifying for the Champions League (rather than the Europa League) the second time owing to Switzerland's improved UEFA coefficient.

On 04 January 2010 he signed for PFC CSKA Moscow in Russia[2]. He will be available for them after the World Cup, from 1 July 2010.[3].

International career

Doumbia earned his first international cap for Côte d'Ivoire in the friendly match against Japan during the Kirin Cup on May 24, 2008. He scored his first international goal in a friendly against Germany on November 18, 2009 in a 2-2 draw.
