Hades is the name of a wooden roller coaster located at Mount Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The trains were built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. It is the largest roller coaster in the park. It was voted "Best New Ride" by Amusement Today magazine in 2005. Hades is a rarity among wooden roller coasters due to its steep 65-degree drop as well as its 90-degree banked turn, as drops and angles this steep are generally not included on wooden roller coasters due to structural limitations. After its 140 foot drop, it goes underneath the Mount Olympus parking lot to do a couple of turns and then it goes back underneath the parking lot back into the amusement park. A minor malfunction caused the train to get up 5 ft below the high drop point on Jun. 10, 2010. The train began moving about 30 minutes after the train stopped and ran as usual afterwards.
