Sunetric

Sunetric is a Hawaii-based residential and commercial solar company in the state of Hawaii, and specializes in the design and installation of residential and commercial photovoltaic systems and building-integrated photovoltaics for all of the Hawaiian islands. The company was founded in 2004 as Suntech Hawaii.

Notable Facts

Sunetric performs the installation and activation of 40 percent of the installed, net-metered systems in Hawaii, including more than 6.76 Megawatts of commercial photovoltaic installations. Since its founding in 2004, the company has performed approximately 1,259 residential solar power installations and approximately 62 commercial installations.[1]

In December of 2008, the company installed the largest roof-mounted photovoltaic installation in the state of Hawaii on top of [Commons] shopping mall.[2].

Also in December 2008, Sunetric completed installation of a solar farm at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Kauai. The installation comprises 2,190 solar panels connected to 3 solar inverters with a rating of 504 kilowatts. Wilcox is the only hospital in the state with a photovoltaic energy system and the solar farm is one of the largest ground-mount systems in the state.[3]

Sunetric is the largest solar integrator for Hawaii's military bases, having installed more than 2 Megawatts of solar generating capacity since 2006.[4]

Sunetric built a photovoltaic system to power the hydrogen fuel cell plant at Hickam Air Force Base.[5]

Sunetric is a SunPower Premier Dealer.[6]

The company also operates a Honda Element automobile nicknamed "Watt Wheels", which, while not a solar vehicle, is integrated with roof-mounted solar panels and can provide mobile electricity onsite for solar power demonstration and promotional purposes.
