Software as a service ERP Software as a Service (SaaS) is a model of delivering software applications to customers over the internet. Ramco OnDemand ERP solution enables to integrate and streamline the business process into one solution, which gives the customer total visibility and control of operations. SaaS takes away the huge capital expenditure involved in an on-premise model. The ERP users can obtain the optimal usage of an ERP suite without buying the software. It is a subscription based model and the solution can be scaled up to accommodate multiple locations, currencies and business units.[4] “Ramco OnDemand ERP has all the features required to run an organization; if customization is required, it is feasible as the requisite tools are available for customization”.[5] The customers find the application to be user friendly, more responsive and efficient enough to coordinate & integrate the business processes.[6]

Even though the global financial crisis has hit India, the growth story for Indian manufacturing remains robust. Therefore, India, with a growing economy and expanding manufacturing industry, provides a good platform to Ramco Systems to establish the necessary proof of concept for the product. The company is banking on leveraging the success of OnDemand in India to secure the necessary foothold in the global marketplace.[7]

The solution is powered on Ramco VirtualWorks technology that keeps the solution evergreen and constantly tuned to changing business needs, also reduces the business cycle time hence maximizes on opportunities for growing businesses.[8]

Oringinally touted as having the capability to maintain both a JEE and MS .NET code base for parallel platform versions of Ramco ERP, the technological ability of Ramco VirtualWorks has been called into question by customers and independent research. In

Recently, Ramco's aviation maintenance solution has lost several prominant customers such as Virgin America, SpiceJet and El AL. [9] [10] [11]
