Rollback (add request)

Have watchlist and often have to undo vandalism. Also sometimes go on Recent changes. Christopher Connor (talk) 23:28, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
{{not done}} because you have minimal experience in reverting vandalism. You may want to patrol Recent Changes and revert some vandalism. Please read the policies. Mr. R00t Talk 00:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done, you have a few good reverts with the undo button, but I'm not seeing any warnings on vandals' talk pages or reports to AIV which would give me confidence that you full understand our policies on vandalism and how to deal with it. Since I’m a Reviewer, I regularly patrol Special:OldReviewedPages and Special:RecentChanges, however, even with Twinkle, there are some vandals I simply cannot fight, due to technical limitations of the wiki. For example, today it took me 1 hour and 28 minutes to revert the vandalism on List of Xbox 360 games. I warned both[1] users[2] rather quickly, but every time I tried to use Twinkle or even manually revert the page, I would either time out or get the Wikimedia screen of death due to the very large size of the article. Rollback would have helped immensely. Taric25 (talk) 10:14, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have oddly found satisfaction in Wikipedia in places such as New Page Patrol and Recent Edits Patrol. I have a fair amount of experience there. I have been editing with Twinkle, and would like to expand on to Huggle to enhance my abilities to filter out vandalism edits. I feel I have a fair degree of experience by this point, and am always open to criticism or correction for other editors, and if I make a mistake, will undo it myself. I've been using Twinkle to emulate rollback, but plain rollback, as I understand it, uses real revision reversion, without need to send all the wikitext to the Wikimedia servers. I do a fair amount of reverting and, when the vandalism or newcomer tests are moderately serious, I put a warning on the vandal/newcomer's talk page. If I don't meet the requirements, please give a concrete explanation of what I'm missing. --Etherfox (talk) 21:05, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. You have little to no recent experience fighting real vandalism here on Wikipedia. If you want the rollback tool, show us that you need it! Go to Special:RecentChanges and make 50 or so vandalism reverts, either with the undo function, or the userscript, Twinkle. One you have done that, come back and request the tool again. -FASTILY (TALK) 21:20, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Do AGF edits that are still disruptive count in the 50 or so edits? --Etherfox (talk) 23:54, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
US Navy Sailor. No access to Firefox (IE only systems). However, I have access to .NET, so I could RVV with Huggle, if the community allows me to do so. I am a former Wikipedian (can verify upon request) and I am familiar with core vandalism policies. Allison Tragedy (talk) 02:52, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Not enough experience, at least on this account. Feel free to email me with your previous name(s) for reconsideration. Nakon 02:55, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting rollback rights because I often use Twinkle and other methods of reverting vandalism, but often times I find vandalism and cannot revert it because I have a very slow internet connection and Twinkle sometimes isn't practical with it. It's very frustrating. I have also made one or two reports to AIV and the UAA. I read that rollback is much faster and streamlined, so I thought that it might be much more practical with my slow connection when reverting vandalism and notifying users. Ok! I'll do that. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 05:44, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Huggle says I need rollback to use it. I am interested in semi automated and automated means of mass bettering wikipedia and would like to use Huggle. I'm thinking of coding my own tool and would like to try what's out there to see what else is needed. If these tools already have what's needed, I plan to use them for repeated tedious tasks since I have no life. :(

My slate isn't particularly clean as User:TreasuryTag tried to drag me down a few times but each time failed or was quickly reverted per explanation. A failed WP:USURP left me with split name, so some of my edits were moved to User:930913.
I have a tendency of avoiding edits on the namespace, usually bringing stuff up on the talk page instead; I hope this will lower me into the waters of editing namespace en mass. Thank you, 930913(Congratulate/Complaints) 13:08, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done I had a look through your edits, deleted and live, and found little to no vandalism reversion. Since you're into scripts, there are a few, including Twinkle, that you can use without rollback and once you have a few good reverts, warnings to vandals and a few reports to WP:AIV, come back and ask for rollback again. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:16, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stupid unfounded accusations against me (there's a surprise...) – as far as I remember, the only conflict we ever had was when I nominated an article of yours for deletion and it was deleted. I'm sorry if this offended you. ╟─TreasuryTagduumvirate─╢ 16:15, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have been reverting vandalism fairly regularly for the last month or so using Twinkle. I would like to give Huggle a try, and even if I decide I prefer Twinkle, I think having the speed of real rollback available would be an advantage. I am aware that rollback is for reverting what is unquestionably vandalism. I have been told that it is easy to make mistakes using Huggle, so I am also aware that I will need to be careful. Would like to have rollback to help with vandalism, had it removed several years ago for taking part in an edit war but since then i have been avoiding edit wars and have been cleaning up articles Lerdthenerd (talk) 10:12, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Not going one way or the other as I was involved in the decline when you re-applied. However I'm a little concerned about some of the intemperate edit summaries in you undos. I'll leave this to another admin however. Pedro :  Chat  13:04, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've been here an active recent changes patroller, and the rollback feature would make reverting vandalism faster. I think I have enough experience here, and also a fair amount of edits. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 11:40, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
