Edmonton, Middlesex????

Edmonton was a part of London long before 1969, I don't know why it is listed as being in Middlesex?

Appointment

The article reads as if Birmingham were in the top flight of English football in March 1993 I can assure you this was not a case! Though in 2002 when the club did get promoted it's questionable that Brady was the first women in English top flight football. Therefore I have deleted most which would seem to suggest this.

Proposed removal of the The Apprentice UK template

I have started a discussion at Template talk:The Apprentice UK proposing the removal of template {{The Apprentice UK}} from this article (and the articles on other celebrities having appeared in the show). Please contribute your opinions to a discussion there. UkPaolo/talk 10:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

File:Karren brady.JPG
3 megapixel mobile phones sometimes make blurry pictures

This blurry picture is a recent likeness, and though it is not very good, it is the best free image we have. Unregistered users, clearly a fan or fans, have started edit warring to remove it. So I thought I would throw open an invitation. If you took, or can take, a photograph of Karren Brady, and are free to contribute it under a free content license that allows it to be modified and used for commercial purposes, then please upload it to Wikimedia Commons, to improve the quality of this and other football articles. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 20:07, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have any reasons been given for removing the image? Snowman (talk) 21:36, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not that I heard. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 00:17, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image was speedily deleted ("image is distorted or doesn't show the correct person. BLP.") See Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Removal_of_image_from_Karren_Brady_article.

My request for a better image remains open.

A thirty-second Flickr search reveals these three images, all of which have been released under the Attribution-Non-Commercial-Share Alike 2.0 licence. A quiet word to the photographer there might result in his releasing one of these under the very similar "commercial use" version of this licence, therefore permitting its use on Wikipedia. Scratch that; I've asked the photographer. Awaiting a reply. Steve TC 13:26, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done, and done. And all it took was a thirty-second Flickr search and a twenty-second e-mail to the photographer. Let this be a lesson to us. :) All the best, Steve TC 22:38, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed it for a cropped version without the expanse of grey on the right of the photograph. Many thanks to the flickr photographer, johnmuk, for changing the photograph copyright license to one that is suitable for the wiki, and the necessary attribution is shown in the image file details. Many thanks also to User:Steve for explaining the wiki copyright to johnmuk. Snowman (talk) 14:35, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recent changes

I think Diaryforward was right about that deletion (even though I wrote some of it.) Not only Brady, but several executives from different clubs, were arrested and released without charge. Although it is a very good idea to explain deletions of sourced material, new editors don't know that, and in this case it is clear (to me) that the world will not end tomorrow.
Some other changes were made yesterday, and I can't check them because the original citations are to a book I don't have. But apart from the two I reverted (photo and footnote - coincidentally citing the BBC arrest article), they seemed mostly harmless.

Further media updates appeared later in July, regarding the corruption investigation, so summarised the current situation in the article. Thanks to Struway2 for fixing an error I made regarding David Gold. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 14:24, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Awards

There is assertion that she has recognition from the Queen. This is a confusing expression as it implies She has for instance MBE, OBE and so on. I think at best maybe the Queen attended a function but this is can not be blown up to look like the Queen has chosen Brady for an award. This is incorrect.
