Orphaned non-free media (File:KDAL.png)

Thanks for uploading File:KDAL.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:28, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:OHPlogo.gif)

You've uploaded File:OHPlogo.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:13, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Radio-Locator

Hi, I see you're systematically removing the use of radio-locator.com from radio station articles. Just wondering where the campaign is stemming from? Is there an official discussion or policy to not use that site? DP76764 (Talk) 20:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, I'm fully aware of the broadcast area field in the templates. However, after experiencing a couple of edit wars over which cities certain stations cover, I found it simpler to just use the diagram on that site to illustrate the area. Listing exact locations just seems to encourage people to keep adding in additional cities, even if they are questionable (ex: someone kept insisting that CIMX (89X in Detroit/Windsor) had a broadcast area including Toledo, OH). I'm fine with listing cities, but just be aware that people may start adding in inaccurate additions. DP76764 (Talk) 23:14, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

January 2009

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. - JPG-GR (talk) 21:06, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Minor Edits

This is a second request - please cease your misuse of the "This is a minor edit" selection. None of the edits that you have made to Michigan Radio templates in the last 24 hours have been minor as you have been removing portions of content. "A check to the minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous version: type corrections, formatting and presentational changes, rearranging of text without modifying content, et cetera." Can you do anything about the person who insists on editing modern rock out of KKCK's format? One listen to the station would prove it and yet he seems to regard my edits on it as vandalism, which it's not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.101.226.27 (talk) 07:44, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RedandNater.com article

Sure, I'll put in a request at WP:RFPP. In the future (since I have no administrative tools), for a faster response, please list it at WP:RFPP. Connormah (talk | contribs) 18:53, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
