Elite Gudz is a design studio based out of Long Island, New York, made up of a team of artists, marketers, product developers, content creators, video and web experts, and manufacturers.

Projects

Concrete Immortalz is a comic series by graffiti artist Phetus and the Elite Gudz team. The series is built on the idea that art progresses with and chronicles human history, and "the graffiti movement is the artistic embodiment of current times."[1] The series' main protagonist is The Wall Lord, a graffiti artist who writes messages of hope and defiance against a repressive government. Concrete Immortalz has received critical acclaim from well-known graffiti artists like Cope2[2], INDIE184,[3] BRONX [4], Terrible T-Kid 170 [5], and BAN2 [6]. On January 7, 2010, Phetus and street artist Such painted a graffiti mural image of The Wall Lord on a subway car installation outside of Tuff City Tattoos in Bronx, NY. Phetus was joined by Cap, Cope2, T-Kid, Ban2, Indie and Cheez who came through to destroy the piece once it was completed as a tribute to the real life actions that go on within the graffiti subculture[7]. A billboard-sized mural for Concrete Immortalz was created by Phetus and Such across a block-long industrial complex at 5 Pointz in Long Island City[8].

Elite Gudz graffiti artist Phetus has been commissioned by celebrities to create one-off garments for videos and events[9]. Phetus also designs Phetus Exclusives which include clothing, accessories, toys, skatedecks, and other items. In June 2010 Phetus was commissioned by the members-only fashion hub PLNDR.com to represent their brand. Phetus painted a mural across three walls while simultaneously hand screening a run of T-shirts, both featuring his "Phat Phace" logo and "Phe-Gnome" character, plundering a village as it burns to the ground[10].

Exhibits

Team members have exhibited in art galleries in the New York area and around the world. In May 2010 Elite Gudz artists Phetus, Mr. Den and Narek Gevorgian exhibited original artwork at “Power Arts for Power Ups - Mr.Power Custom Show” [11], featuring Mr. Den's "The Bull of Minos Devours Mr. Powers" custom sculpture. On the same day the artists also exhibited at “Thought Processor: The NYC Series."[12], featuring custom paper toys accompanied by paintings by all three Elite Gudz artists. The designs were also available online for download after the show so fans could make their own figures out of the same pieces featured in the gallery.

In February 2010 Elite Gudz artists Rolo Ledesma and Mr. Den contributed original shaped sketch cards to the Topps Star Wars Galaxy 5 trading card set. Cards from 2009 by Phetus sold out completely, with sketch cards selling on the aftermarket for a hefty price.[13]

In January, 2010 Phetus and Mr. Den did a live drawing event for Wizard Sleeve Toys during Art Basel week, where they produced original pieces in a graffiti art and pop art style[14].

Elite Gudz develops applications for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Applications include the Graffiti Spray Can, which has had over 3,500,000 total downloads, frequent updates[15], and has reached #1 on iTunes for applications in UK, France, Canada, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, Germany, France, Brazil, Portugal, Switzerland, Lebanon, Slovakia, South Africa, Indonesia and Luxembourg[16]. Elite Gudz has also produced the OCD Light Switch, Fart Spray, and BP Oil Spill applications[17]. The BP Oil Spill application enabled in-app donations to the nonprofit National Wildlife Federation[18].

In October 2010, Elite Gudz and Phetus will present E=MC3, elite=movable cubes x3, in The Cultyard at the New York Comic Con[19].
