Maribyrnong Park Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 7 km north of Melbourne in the suburb of Moonee Ponds . The club was formed in 1980 from an amalgamation of Riverside Stars and Moonee Imperials football clubs who shared the same clubroom and played on adjacent ovals at Maribyrnong Park.

In only their second season in A Grade, the team defeated Greenvale 14.18.102 to 13.6.84.

2006-2010

In 2006, Maribyrnong Park made their much anticipated return to A Grade. In only their second season, the Lions defeated Greenvale to break a 26 year drought.

This began an era of dominance when coach, Brodie Holland lead them to back to back premierships in 2009 and 2010
