Rollback (add request)

I use to have rollback, but then a now retired user took it away. Since then, I have became a better ediotr, often reverting vandalism. I have Reviewers already, and I fell I could use rollback rights again YE Tropical Cyclone 13:29, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You had rollback for exactly two hours before User:Juliancolton removed it. Care to explain why it was removed? T. Canens (talk) 01:25, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
An old mistake I made giving too harsh warnings to a borderline vandal. I realized that not every IP is a vandal since then. YE Tropical Cyclone 02:47, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If i remember correctly, some WP:WPTC members who deal with him on a daily basis expressed doubt that YE could be trusted with them as he wasnt a mature editor at the time, and as YE explained he gave rather harsh warnings to the IP and so Julian removed them. Im not overly sure he can be trusted with them at this time as he still seems to be rather immature but id like to be proved wrong.Jason Rees (talk) 00:46, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I have looked in detail at a substantial sample of your edits over the last two months, and see little if any evidence that you are doing editing of a type which would be enhanced by rollback. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:56, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, is there anything I can do better? I know this is not WP:ER. YE Tropical Cyclone 23:16, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I believe having rollback capability would help me out greatly in preventing vandalism that I already do manually. Was trying to get access to Huggle to better assist me. jlcoving (talk) 17:16, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting rollback Wlmg (talk) 02:43, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have been using Twinkle to fight vandalism. I believe I have matured since my last request for rollback rights was denied on the grounds that I had in the past disrupted wikipedia to make a point. I will use this tool responsibly and not be a dick or bite the newbies or good faith IPs. Wlmg (talk) 02:43, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have looked at your edits over this month. I see no serious problems, but I am not happy about the fact that most of your reversions are not accompanied by a message on the relevant user talk page, and that when such messages are given they are often not very informative. For example, "Please keep your POV edits out of the Larchmont article" to a new user with only one edit, who may have no idea what "POV" means, and "Don't make unconstructive unsourced edits", with no explanation what edits are referred to or why they are unconstructive. (And again, does a new editor necessarily know what "unsourced edits" means?) This is certainly a minor issue compared to the problem which led to your last request being declined three months ago, but it is enough to make me hesitate to grant you rollback rights. However, since I declined your last request I will leave this to another admin to assess. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:34, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Over the last week or so I have been using Twinkle to revert vandalism. After several hundred reverts (or so), the Twinkle process has grown tedious, and I wish to switch to Huggle, which requires this permissions bit. PerryTachett (talk) 07:47, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I usually monitor a lot of pages and need this feature to fight vandalism. Xavier449 (talk) 11:26, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looking over your contributions, it looks like you haven't dealt with vandalism much. I was able to find one revert of vandalism. Your contributions are much appreciated, but it appears that at this time you do not need the rollback permission. If you're interested in having an easier way to revert vandalism, consider using WP:Twinkle (you can also enable it in the "Gadgets" menu in your user preferences).  Not done, per above. Nakon 03:08, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to remove abuse on pages. S1312 (talk) 00:29, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done, I don't see any recent anti-vandalism work. Please use of of the available non-rollback tools for a few weeks and feel free to request again later. Nakon 03:07, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Relatively new editor, wanting to use Huggle but it requires Rollbacker right. Eager to contribute to Wikipedia as much as possible and fight vandalism. Yong (talk) 05:30, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
