Reginald Horace "Reggie" Bannister[1] (born September 29, 1945) is an American actor, musician and director, best-known for his role as Reggie, an ex-ice cream man, in director Don Coscarelli's Phantasm series[2]

Biography

Bannister is known for his four barrel shotgun weapon used in the Phantasm series in which he starred alongside A. Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury and Angus Scrimm. Bannister has appeared in dozens of films and worked with such notables as Ossie Davis, Bruce Campbell, Ella Joyce, Daniel Roebuck, Andy Griffith, Joe Estevez and many, many others. He has also lent his name to many wireless internet networks in Glasgow, Scotland[citation needed]. Bannister portrayed Dr. William Stein in the Sasquatsh film Primitve, which based on a tale by Martin Blaine.[3]

Music career

He also composed the song "Have You Seen it" (used in Phantasm IV) and arranged (with Bill Thornbury) "Sitting Here at Midnight".

Personal life

Bannister currently resides in Southern California where he lives with his wife Gigi.
