Park Ji-yeon

Park Ji-yeon (박지연) (born June 7, 1993) better known by her stage name Jiyeon is a Korean singer and actress. She is a member of the Korean girl group T-ara. She made her debut as a singer on July 28, 2009.

Early life

Park was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She has an older sister, who is four years older, named Hyomin. Park briefly attended Seoul Arts High School and Hyehwa Girls' High School.

Career

Early work

Park collaborated with Davichi and SeeYa on the digital single "Female Generation/Forever Love" which was released in the summer of 2009, becoming the first member of T-ara to be made known. She had modeled with the Korean boyband SHINee for the SMART brand of school uniforms in 2008. She has also appeared in several music videos including SG Wannabe's ‘Saranghae’ and ‘My love is crying’.

T-ara

In 2009, she entered the Smart Model Contest. Soon after getting the part, she auditioned at the Mnet Casting System and joined the company. T-ara debuted on July 28, 2009, marking her feature musical at age 16.

T-ara made their official debut on July 28, 2009 through Radio Star, a late-night talk show produced by Mnet and broadcast on MBC network. Prior to the official debut, T-ara had contributed to the OST for Cinderella Man, a Korean TV series.

Television

In January 2010, Jiyeon starred in the hit KBS television series, Master of Study. She played the role of Na Hyun Jung, a heavily burdened love stricken high school girl who joins a special class consisting of five under-performing students whose aim is to be admitted into the fictional Cheonha National University (Chunha Dae).[1] Ji Yeon will make her big screen debut in the film Death Bell 2, set to be released in the summer of 2010.
