Matthew Joseph "Matt" Dallas (born October 21, 1982) is an American actor, best known for his titular character on the ABC Family series, Kyle XY.
Personal life
Dallas was born in Phoenix, Arizona and briefly attended Arizona School for the Arts. He became interested in acting at the age of 12, when his grandmother took him to a play of The Ugly Duckling, and he has wanted to be an actor ever since.
Career
Dallas has starred in several films, including Babysitter Wanted, as well as the title character in the ABC Family television series Kyle XY for three seasons. The series ended on March 16, 2009. Dallas also appeared in Living The Dream, Wannabe, Camp Daze, and Way of The Vampire. He has been a guest on the TV show Entourage. In 2004, Dallas starred in fan 3's music video for "Geek Love". In 2005, Dallas starred with Mischa Barton in James Blunt's music video for "Goodbye My Lover" and in 2008 he starred in Katy Perry's music video for "Thinking of You". Dallas was cast in ABC's Eastwick, playing Roxie's (Rebecca Romijn) love interest.[1] On November 9, 2009, ABC declined to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series.[2] In 2009, it was announced that Dallas would be doing the movie, Beauty and the Briefcase with Hilary Duff.
Matt Dallas made news when Photographer Tyler Shields released a video portrait of the actor covered in mud freezing cold http://www.tylershields.com/2009/03/03/matt-dallas-video-portrait/ Later a video was released of the behind the scenes which also made news. Matt has appeared in mush of Shields work and Shields even helped the actor launch his twitter page.
