I've read that Joe Elliott played in various bands before Def Leppard, not all of them as a singer, but I'm pretty sure these were garage band type bands. They all probably played covers of other peoples' songs.

'El Paso' incident

Hey, as far as I read on the source, Joe actually said that 'greasy mexicans' stuff in front of Tucson's crowd, - absolutely - not El Paso. He just referred to El Paso people there. I'm not gonna change the article because I don't have a good idea on how to express it, but it sure ain't right the way it is. Please, someone, fix it! Make it the good job I'm not able to do. Thanks. D7maj (talk) 05:01, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

////The problem is that Joe's minions will come back and remove the reference he made in Arizona, calling the El Paso crowd "a bunch of greasy Mexicans".

Joe likes to pretend that such never happened. - dsteitz

This has now been removed due to BLP concerns and the fact that the sourcing for it was from a totally unreliable website. 67.8.72.12 (talk) 20:54, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heavy metal

I doubt DL should be classified as a heavy metal band. It is hard rock, hair metal, pop metal and rock, but not heavy metal. Norum (talk) 17:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
