My name is Joseph T. Richardson, and I am a graduate student in history at the University of Mississippi. I'm a native of Decatur, Alabama, a former resident of Huntsville, Alabama, and currently a resident of Oxford, Mississippi. A longtime and enthusiastic Wikipedia user, I finally became a registered contributor on March 2, 2006.
My primary historical interests are the history of Alabama, southern history, American history, and local history. My favorite period is the antebellum period of the Old South. My other interests include medieval history, British history, the history of Christianity, and the history of Rome.
I am also interested in English literature, classical and modern languages, genealogy, cemeteries, and film. I listen to classical music, as well as bluegrass and rock. I love road trips and travel, and can frequently be found wandering the countryside of North Alabama. I am a devout Christian.
I am a member of the Southern Historical Association, the Alabama Historical Association, the American Historical Association, and the Organization of American Historians.
In my writing and editing, I swear by The Chicago Manual of Style.
