Avantair is an American aircraft fractional ownership company, headquartered at Clearwater, Florida. Avantair provides fractional ownership within a fleet of twin-turboprop-engined P.180 aircraft. Avantair operates the largest fleet of P.180 aircraft. Avantair's fleet consists of 59 Piaggio Avanti's[1] and 1 IAI-1125 Astra. Avantair is currently taking delivery of new Avanti II prop driven aircraft as an addition to their existing fleet.
History
Avantair was founded in July 2003 as the exclusive fractional provider of the Piaggio P.180 aircraft and in February 2006, became the only publicly traded (AAIR) stand-alone, fractional operators of propeller-driven airplanes in the industry. Under the leadership of founder and CEO, Steven Santo, Avantair has become a notable part of the fractional ownership industry with the world’s largest fleet of propeller driven airplanes.
Environment
Every time an aircraft flies, jet fuel is exhausted into the air in the form of carbon dioxide. Avantair began offsetting carbon emissions by purchasing Flight TerraPass for all new owners. Avantair's carbon emissions have offset due to this program.
