Company Vision

To be amongst India’s leading life insurers with a quality business model, focused on sustainable growth.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Street to School

In August 2009, Aviva launched its ‘Street to School’ programme in India working in partnership with CRY. The Corporate Responsibility (CR) program’s objective was to provide education to 50,000 underprivileged children over the next 3 years. At the start of this program, Aviva India employees have volunteered a day’s salary, amounting to Rs 0.24 crore.[2] In India, they have partnered with CRY (Child Rights and You) and ‘Save the Children’ to facilitate education (including other related factors that could prevent a child from attending school) for over 50,000 children by 2012. In the first year, Aviva will be reaching out to 20,000 children across 9 projects in 5 states.

The Great Wall of Education

In 2009, Aviva along with Hindustan Times took an initiative called the Great Wall of Education in the city of Delhi. It was built at Ansal Plaza, New Delhi, between 11 and 15 November, using books donated by the people for the welfare of underprivileged children. Over 200 schools came forward to donate books. The 5-day affair was then culminated in a book distribution ceremony on November 16 to ‘Save the Children’ India. The Great Wall of Education at Ansal Plaza amassed over 1,20,000 donated books.[3]

Awards & recognitions

  • Aviva has been felicitated with the "Bronze Award for Excellence in People Management" by Grow Talent Company Limited and Businessworld. This honour was given based on our ranking amongst the top 25 companies as per the Grate Place to Work survey in the last four years.[4]
  • Surprisingly Aviva India was ranked 4th in the Best Workplaces in India study for the year 2008 by the Great Place to Work Institute. while the truth is that almost 50%of workforce has been left or laid off in last 1 year; recently almost 300+ peope are laidoff in few batches; there is clear indication that survey teams fed with the money to givethese ratings .[5]
  • Aviva India won the coveted Award for Talent Management during the national round of Asia Pacific HRM Congress.[6]
  • Aviva India was also felicitated with the HR Excellence Award by Amity Business School.[7]
