Wu Xiubo

Xiubo Wu (Chinese: 吴秀波; pinyin: Wú Xiù Bō), (born 5 September 1968), is a popular Chinese actor, singer, music producer and entrepreneur. Wu is well-known for his TV series, and most famed for acting spies including Xinjie Liu in Before the Dawn 黎明之前 and Tao Fang in Sword & Spy. He is also well-accepted for many characters including a police officer, a lawyer, a thief and a mobster in Trace In The End, Tao That Can Be Described, Wedding Gown and Brothers. His role as Xinjie Liu in Before the Dawn 黎明之前won him the Most Popular Actor in 2010 National Drama Festival in December, 2010. Wu also received the top 50 Chinese Charisma Award in 2010.
Wu, Xiubo graduated from Central Academy of Drama in 1988, and had been a drama actor in China Railway Art Troupe after graduation. In the mid 90's,Wu became a successful singer and released his first and only album "War of Love"(爱之战), including 10 love songs all composed by himself. He sang many songs that he wrote the lyrics and composes by himself before he left stage to start his own business afterwards. Wu, Xiubo returned to acting in 2002. He has been starring in over 50 Chinese TV series and films.
Early life
Xiubo was born and brought up in Beijing, China. The younger child in his family, Xiubo has a half-blooded elder brother, who is a physicist. Xiubo’s mother is a pharmacist, and his father was a diplomat, passed away in 2007.
In 1984, he enrolled at Central Academy of Drama, from which he graduated in 1987. From 1988 to 1995, he worked at China Railway Drama Troupe, engaging in the literary and art field as a drama actor. In 1988, he received a national award for the sketch comedy. Despite his success, Xiubo tired of repeating the same roles day after day. Since he already started to do a part-time job as a singer in the most famous bar in Beijing, he decided to become a full-time musician in 1995. Xiubo has displayed his musical and literary talents in music producing and poetry writing since he was 17. From 1995 to 2000, he was a quite popular singer in Beijing, performing his own original works only. In 2000, his music album, “War of Love” was released, including 10 original songs all written by himself. After finishing this album in 2000, he decided to make a precipitous journey from singer to entrepreneur, experiencing a different life.
Career
In 2002, after several years in repertory, he was spotted by Jian Zhang, a drama investor, who invited him to go back to the show business. He made his first drama series debut as a detective in Crime Investigate at the end of 2002. From then on, he has gone to enjoy a long career, playing different characters with entirely different mannerisms in different drama series. In the meantime, he also worked as drama producer and music producer for several dramas series he has involved in as an actor, such as the anti-one Tianzhuo Lv in A Special Road (2004) and the lead role Yi Luo in Road May Say (2006).

Xiubo has displayed his musical and literary talents in music producing and poetry writing since he was 17. From 1995 to 2000, he was a quite popular singer in Beijing, performing his own original works only. In 2000, his music album, “War of Love” was released, including 10 original songs all written by himself. He has displayed his musical talents in episodes of several series as well.
