Sunethradevi Pirivena

The Sunethradevi Pirivena in Pepiliyana is a 600 year-old Pirivena, known for being one of the places of study in Buddhism.[1]

History

King Parakramabahu VI of the Kingdom of Kotte, built one of Sri Lanka’s greatest spiritual and historic monuments in honour of his mother, Queen Sunethradevi, whom he is said to have been extremely close to.[2]
