Five Star Prison Cell, is a four-piece Tech Metal band from Melbourne, Australia offer a different and non-conformist approach to their songw riting, crazy odd time signatures, and dissonanangular, dissonant and creative guitar riffs with a vocalist that has many different styles of vocals.

Band history

Five Star Prison Cell was formed in 2004 and was originally intended to be a recording project. All members having come from previous bands decided to join forces and create something challenging and refreshing for the Aussie metal scene and most importantly something they themsleves enjoy playing.

Band Bio

Dubiously labeled a "Tech metal", or "Math Rock" band, Five Star Prison Cell offer a different and non-conformist approach to songwriting.

Brutally heavy, Dark and forboding with the ability to switch time, pace, genre and style at the drop of a hat; Adam, Cam, Mark and Marc take great pleasure in constantly challenging themselves while at the same time serving up a dish of fresh new and always evolving ideas to their unsuspecting but ever growing fan base.

Only a year and half old now, 2005 saw Five Star release their debut album "The Complete First Season" through dw Norton's Faultline records to much critical acclaim ensuring plenty of travelling to most of our nations capital cities. Having already supported such bands as Arch Enemy, Spiderbait, Walk the Earth, Daysend, Shallow Grave, Alarum, Minus Life, Karnivool, Flesh Mechanic, Lynchmada and many more Five Star are on their way to securing a solid hold in the Metal scene with the determination, passion and drive to stay there for a very long time.

Like an inexperienced left hand hopelessly fondling at the musical clitoris and with a commercial indifference, Five Star Prison Cell are the masters of a fresh and non-conformist formula to the way music is written. The debut album, THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON is out now through Faultline/Shock Records.

Upcoming Album

The new album and follow up from 2005's 'The Complete First Season' will be out in 2006 with national tours following soon after.
