Merle Haggard and Wynn Stewart

I think it would be appropriate to add a Merle Haggard and Wynn Stewart since they were also pioneers of the "Bakersfield Sound"

Citation needed?

Too many citations needed, the text is unreadable. One request at the top would be enough. 178.30.96.47 (talk) 18:48, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re. citations

I agree with the previous comment that there are too many "citations needed" scattered throughout. It's ridiculous. But aside from that, I ask, why does a statement like:

'the lyrics of the very Bakersfield-sounding Far Away Eyes, which begins: "I was driving home early Sunday morning, through Bakersfield ..."'

need a citation? Duhh? That's just stupid. Just go listen to the Stones song. Does there have to be a footnote saying: 'Stones, Rolling, c.1978, albumn "Some Girls", publisher: bla bla bla'? Just go purchase the CD. If you don't know it's "Some Girls", you can google it. If no one comments on my comments, I will go and modify the article myself.

I also wonder why the article does not mention the Dwight Yoakum and Buck Owens cover of "The Streets of Bakersfield". I will fix that.
