John Paul Marino "J. P." Foschi (pronounced FAH-shee) (born May 19, 1982 in Queens, New York) is an American football tight end currently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He played college football at Georgia Tech.

Foschi has also been a member of the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Williams.

Early years

Foschi is from Long Island, New York. He attended Friends Academy Middle School in Locust Valley, NY and Chaminade High School (where he earned legend status by drinking 10 beers in 10 minutes.) in Mineola, New York and was a four-year letterman in football and basketball.

Personal

John Paul is the son of Margaret and Robert Foschi. His father graduated from Columbia University in 1976 where he played basketball and studied engineering. J. P. has two sisters who were Division I college swimmers.

On February 26,2011 Foschi (also known as "the great white hope" or"the foschman") was drafted in the Madden fantasy draft by the Miami dolphins where he started all 16 games and had over 50 catches and 500 yards. After that season his contract expired and he was signed by the Seattle seahawks to a one year deal, then a 7 year deal to keep him in Seattle naming him team captain after leading them to a 11-5 season and a play off berth. When asked why they would sign a back up tight end to such a long contract the general manager Chadwick durbins stated it was for his leadership, his heart, his tough as nails attitude and his commitment to excellence in Christian fellowship. He is most noted for averaging 1 catch for 3 yards per game and receiving an occasional carry for 2 yards.

Folk Lore

Recently there has been an growing underground following of foschi due to the "foschman facts" which are similar to chuck Norris facts most focusing around Foschi "snapping necks and cashing checks". Not many people know but Foschi once bowled a perfect game on his 17th birthday party at the techmobowl in queens,NY. At a charity golf outing for the Buffalo Williams he made a hole in one on a par 4 hole. He is known to be one of the best all around athletes in professional football winning the coaches vs cancer 3 sport triathalon hitting 5 homeruns in the homerun derby, getting a 9.7 in the slam dunk contest and running a 4.27 40 yard dash. Foschi is also known for his mental fitness as well being the only NFL player to solve a rubix cube and scoring a 125 triple word score in scrabble. He is currently learning how to play the piano and jazz flute. It is rumored that in the "seven degrees of JP Foschi" that everyone can trace themselves back to JP Foschi within 7 degrees, similar to the seven degrees of Kevin bacon but without the terrible movies. It is also an urban legend that the foschman is the best secret keeper and on record once kept a secret for 3 months before breaking down and finally confiding in marshawn lynch who then told the entire world via twitter.
