Dragon Booster is a Canadian animated series first broadcast in 2004. It follows the story of young Artha Penn, a stable boy who rides Beaucephalis (or "Beau" for short), the dragon of legend. He becomes a Dragon Booster, a hero to protect the world from impending war, and to unite humans and dragons for all time.

Many of the characters are named after characters from the tales of King Arthur, and the setting of Dragon Booster has a certain Star Wars-esque feel to it.

Main Characters

Dragon Booster

The hero and main character of the show, the legendary Dragon Booster has the immense responsibility of keeping the futuristic Dragon City safe, along with his mystical dragon, Beau. He has to live up to a lot and take responsibility in his hands, as he is faced with an impending dragon-human war, a threat between the bonds between humans and dragons, and seemingly endless problems. He was once influenced by human wraith gear.

The Dragon Booster's main weapon is his blocking staff (mag staff; jakk-stick), which comes in handy when smacking down wraith dragons (more on those below). He wears the ancient gold draconium armour, which is believed to be previously worn by the original Dragon Booster from three thousand years ago. The Dragon Booster is good with intimidation, which is how most of his enemies are usually dealt with. If there's something that the main authorities of Dragon City can't do, it’s Dragon Booster that can help with that. His friends from Penn Racing and other crews as well often have to help him out of a tough situation (ex. Vociferous tried to steal Beau and Dragon Booster had to receive help from the Penn Racing crew.)

Artha Penn

Artha Penn is a stable boy, a street racer, and the leader of the Penn Racing Crew. He loves playing VIDD Games and likes hanging around with his friends. His dragon is Beau, the black and gold dragon of legend under disguise (see below). Artha was chosen by Beau to become the Dragon Booster, and now he must make sacrifices and take responsibility in his hands to face new challenges and to stop Word Paynn from starting a dragon-human war.

As a racer, he rides in the All-City Racing Circuit, which is where all the hopeful teenage racers take part in, anticipating to be selected by major teams and crews. As Dragon Booster, he protects the city from drastic problems, and carries a light green draconium jakk-stick, a solid weapon similar to a casual mag-staff. Though arrogant and boastful at many times, he is rather friendly and is willing to do anything for one in need, either friend or foe. Artha watches over his younger brother, Lance, Parmon Sean, his best friend, and Kitt Wonn, whom he takes a liking to.

Artha is 16 years old and has black hair, blue eyes, and is about 5'8". He wears his father's racing jacket, burnt at the side from an incident at Penn Stables. His name is altered from Arthur Pendragon, better known as King Arthur from legend. His middle name, Tannis, derives from Tannis the Wise, teacher in the Ancient Order.

Lance Penn

Lance Penn is the little brother to Artha, also a stable boy and in Penn Racing and acts quite smilar to Artha. Like most young kids that live in Dragon City, anything that involves awesome, intense action and breathtaking racing stunts amazes him. His dragon is Fracshun, with a blue draconium bone color and placed in the Energy-class section.

Lance is skilled with acrobatics and loves candy and VIDDGames, such as Battleground Dragon. Though not an experienced racer, the flash stick he carries comes in handy in the tightest spots, and his wisdom is that of a Dragon Priest's. Unfortunately, sometimes his words are considered inadequate, due to his age, and go by unnoticed. Like many young boys, he is biased against the opposite gender without realizing the cruelty of sexism.

Unlike Artha, Lance takes on more of his father's physical traits, and has red hair, blue eyes, and freckles sprinkled across his face. He is 10 years old, is about 5'2" (this may be inaccurate; according to Artha in “Into the Fire” he’s four feet small), and wears green and blue clothing. His name is altered from Sir Lancelot, who served under King Arthur as one of his best knights. His middle name is Patrik.

Kitt Wonn

Kitt Wonn is considered the common "racer gal", but highly differs from just that, and is, in fact, the most experienced and known All-City Street Racer in Dragon City. Her statistics state that she took place in competitions before she turned 16, and she intends on keeping her title as number one. (This theory seems to be slightly questionable, as she is now part of Artha's Penn Racing crew and even allows Artha to compete in her place without argument.) Her dragon, Wyldfyr, is a Magma-class red draconium dragon and, being on two legs, is built for speed.

Kitt favors the jet-pack style Red Thrusting Gear when she races. Her temper and attitude defines her well, and can get easily agitated. She makes sarcastic remarks here and there and stands up for herself, showing that she's not one to be taken lightly. But like Artha, when it comes to friends, she’ll protect them at all costs. Artha Penn is a very good friend of hers, and perhaps...even more.

Kitt is 16 years old, has green eyes, and her hair is short, tied back into a ponytail, and takes on many colors: electric blue, bright pink and violet. Her height is about 5'6", and she wears a yellow, teal, pink and purple racing suit. Her middle name is Raada.

Parmon Sean

Parmon Sean, or "Parm" for short, is Artha and Lance's best friend and the brainy technician of the Penn Racing crew. His mother is a professor at the Dragon City Tech-Academy, therefore genetics seem to travel through this teenager. He is often the first to point out dangers using his technology array. His dragon is Cyrano, a large, green draconium Bull-class dragon that highly resembles an ox and has a rather large nose (probably the meaning behind Cyrano's name).

Parm isn't partial to racing and has a fear of heights, but he is an excellent tactics master and is good with statistics and complicated equations. Sadly, nobody seems to understand a word that comes out of his mouth. He's known to carry electronics wherever he goes, including his binoculars, which can dial in heat wavelengths, and can calculate giga-dracs and kilo-dracs. When someone's in danger and there's nothing much anybody else can do, he will step in and try to help what problems occur. Parmon was once influenced by the Samurox, the king of the fighter dragons. (More on the Samurox in List of Dragons in Dragon Booster.)

Parm has a darker tone of skin than the rest of his crewmembers, and has maroon-coloured hair (whether this colour is natural is a debatable topic) and gold-brown eyes. He is 17 years old, and is 5'10" tall, taller than his teammates. (However, there seems to be some inconsistancy error in the show where Artha is taller than Parm and the others in his crew.) Parm's middle name is unknown, though some of his nicknames are "Professor" and "Parmesan" (these nicknames are either used to praise or make fun of him).

Moordryd Paynn

Moordryd Paynn is the leader of the feared Dragon Eyes Down City crew, and is also the hotheaded son of the infamous Word Paynn. Being the leader of the Dragon Eyes, Moordryd is a person who should not be taken lightly, for his aggressive manner gives him a deadly edge on the tracks of Dragon City and anywhere else. His dragon is Decepshun, a slender, black draconium Psi-Class dragon.

Moordryd's prowess with a black energy drain whip is awe-striking, though his racing record will make anybody frown. When he's on the tracks, many disfavor him for his methods of cheating and his recklessness. He takes on his father's cold and sinister approach, though underneath, it seems as though Moordryd has another unexpected good side to him, even allowing him once to ride the dragon of legend, Beau. ( Amusingly, he also has a weakness to Lance's puppy-dog eyes, and even forms a small brotherly bond with Lance in "The Wraith Booster") He craves power and superiority, which can lead to hysteria, though what he desires most is even a small piece of attention and recognition from cold-hearted Word...

A reincarnation of his father, Moordryd's skin is pale, and has long, white hair and gray eyes. He wears a teal, maroon and black outfit, and black boots, occasionally wearing a racing jacket several times. He is 16 years old, and is 5'11". ( This has been confirmed in the Official Dragon Booster Scrapbook.) His name is altered from Mordred, or Medraut, the nephew and son of King Arthur. His middle name, Drakkus, takes after the name of one of the moons, and may also be the name of the original enemy to the Dragon Booster, who may or may not be the entity behind the new amulet Moordryd has attained.

Shadow Booster

Armeggaddon has taught Moordryd well, and Moordryd was rewarded by the black draconium gauntlet of ancient times, bearing black draconium armor. He dubs his superpowered self the identity of the Shadow Booster, and Decepshun's powers from an unexpected mutation are also fully released.

The mysterious Shadow Booster is one of the Dragon Booster's newest and most lethal enemies that he now must face. The Shadow Booster is one of destruction and terror, who plans to wreak havoc among Dragon City, and to defeat the Dragon Booster once and for all.

Word Paynn

Word Paynn is the father of Dragon Eyes leader Moordryd Paynn and CEO of Paynn Incorporated, the largest manufacturer of draconium battle gear in Dragon City. He is the wealthiest man of Dragon City and was once a racing champion when he was younger. He knows much about the ancient legends and myths from three thousand years ago, and wants to start another dragon-human war. His dragon, Abandonn, was named after the second moon, and is a gigantic and powerful black draconium Psi-class dragon.

Word was once best friends with dragon breeder Connor Penn, and also trained with him in the Ancient Order of Dragon Priests, but broke his friendship with Connor out of a long-lasting, crucial argument and loathes the Penn name still. He was kicked out of the Ancient Order because of his fiendish (and foiled) attempts to start another dragon-human war, and experimenting with dragon control gear. Word believes that dragons should rule the earth, and it has gone to the point where his insanity blinds him from the equality of both dragons and humans. Word has succeeded in many things besides gear manufacturing, such as creating liquid black draconium, an artificial black and gold dragon (he actually created a chromatic dragon out of Brutaris, Phistus dragon (more on Brutaris in List of Dragons in Dragon Booster, but Dragon Booster put a stop to his attempt at destroying the city), and even wraith gear designed to control humans.

Word has pale skin, and has long, white hair and gray eyes. He wears fancy orange robe-like clothing, and his right hand is decorated with a set of dragon claws. He is 50 years old, and is 6'3" tall (this, however, as mentioned earlier in Moordryd's profile, is innacurate; Word is more of the 6'11" approach). His middle name is unknown (though a nickname Dragon Flares leader Pyrrah once referred to him was "Wordie"; this was in the episode "Fanning the Flames").

(There is a possibility that Word Paynn is also Drakkus. Four points found supporting this would be that the dragon Drakkus rides looks heavily similar to Abandonn. Another would be that Word and Drakkus share the same voice, since Connor Penn and Mortis shared a voice and identity. Third, Drakkus refers to Mortis as his "old friend" (as did Word in "Broken Bonds"), and Mortis reveals later that their fight began thirty years ago, the same time Connor and Word left the Dragon Order. Lastly, Drakkus had wraith dragons working for him, and if Word was really Drakkus, that would make the connection sensible.)

Connor Penn

Connor Penn is the father of Artha and Lance Penn, and the famous owner of Penn Stables. He was the person who bred Beau to be a gold draconium based dragon, and he taught Artha about the Dragon Booster. When he was younger, Connor was also trained in the Ancient Order and was once the best friend of Word Paynn. Due to heavily different opinions, they parted. Connor has no dragon (though since he is Mortis, it could be Tyrannis Pax).

Not only is Connor a dragon breeder, but he provides useful tips to other riders when it comes to racing. Rumor has it that he was the original Dragon Booster, but this is completely false, since he was not chosen, but only given the amulet to give to the true Dragon Booster (after all, the original dragon-human war was more than 3000 years ago)

Connor has red hair, but none on his head, has blue eyes, and wears a blue outfit. He is 47 years old and his height is 5'11". He apparently seems to vanish in the first episode, but the Dragon Priest Mortis plays a familiar fatherly figure to Artha and Lance.

Mortis

The mysterious Mortis is a wise and knowledgeable Dragon Priest and the original keeper of the Dragon Booster's gauntlet. Like Word, Mortis knows all of Dragon City legends and mythical tales, such as the legend of the destructive Prophets crew, and the energy-draining Muhorta dragon. His dragon, Tyrannis Pax, is a large blue draconium Energy-class dragon.

Mortis has a gold draconium forged staff that rather resembles a gold star-dragon at the top, and can channel powerful draconium energy through the dragon head's star. He lives in the intriguing Dragon Temple hidden beneath Penn Stables. Mortis' wisdom and teachings prove beneficial, and his words should not be taken for granted.

Mortis' physical appearance is not much besides green Dragon Priest armor, but his stats prove suspicious to the Connor/Mortis theory. He is 47 years old and his height is 5'11", and his draconium stats mentioned on the central website are also very similar to Connor's. (As a side note, he's also voice acted by the same actor.)

The episode "Return of Drakkus - Part II" reveals once and for all that Mortis is in fact Connor Penn in disguise, when Mortis removes his helmet in front of his sons. He did not reveal himself before, his reason being that Artha needed to believe in himself, without his father, in order to release the dragon.

Cain

Cain is Moordryd Paynn's right hand man and lieutenant of the Dragon Eyes Down City crew. Like Parm, Cain is probably Moordryd's best friend. His dragon is Coershun, a fierce, black draconium Psi-class dragon.

Cain is loyal to the Dragon Eyes and rather smart, but at times his cowardice and ridiculous phobias gets the better of him and he ends up retreating instead of helping the rest of the Dragon Eyes fight. Like Kitt, he's rather sarcastic and cynical. He loves to get under Moordryd's skin by taunting him and making dry remarks.

The muscular Cain has a tattoo of the Dragon Eye crew symbol on his forehead and has dark dreadlocks and gold-brown eyes. He wears a dull-colored gray and maroon outfit, not concealing much of the top besides a few straps. Like Parm, his skin tone is darker, and he is 17 years old and 5'10" tall.

Other Characters

Spratt

Spratt is the best friend of Lance Penn. When Lance hung around with Artha and his friends, Spratt became jealous, and was recruited into the Dragon Eyes, only to quit because of being mistreated. He then becomes Lance's friend again after the Dragon Booster tells him that Lance was a true friend. His dragon is Bumpyrr, a Sky-class dragon with a white draconium bone color.

Spratt seems rather swayed easily, and is succumb to changing his opinions. He is extremely curious and asks a lot of questions. He seems to be intentionally and unintentionally good at breaking objects, including bonds. Like Lance, he finds amazing events and dragons fascinating, and probably loves VIDDGames and candy as much as Lance does.

Spratt has green hair that seems to cover his blue eyes, and wears faded clothing with a dragon design, similar to the one on Lance's helmet and Fracshun's hide. Like Lance, he is 5'2" (as mentioned earlier, this may be inaccurate) and 10 years old, and his skin has a darker tone than Lance’s. His name seems to be a play-on pun of Sprat, a fish.

Khatah

Khatah is the distinguished leader of the Inner Order Down City Crew and the consecutive champion in the Horn of Libris competition. Khatah was the best student at the Racing Academy and scored above ninety-eight percent on all his tests. He usually works with Sarjo, another Inner Order member. His dragon, Shock-Ra, is a blue draconium Energy-class dragon.

Khatah can be close minded and rather selfish. He initally denounced Artha as just another immature racer after losing the Horn of Libris competition, but changes his mind when Artha and Kitt attempt to rescue him from Moordryd's compound when he tries to take it back. He also attempted to help Parmon and Cyrano when both were possessed by a powerful Blue Draconium bone mark. He favors slim mag-staffs and is skilled with martial arts.

Khatah has indigo hair and bright pink eyes. He wears an elaborate blue and gold outfit with the lightning bolt insignia of the Inner Order. He is 22 years old and his height is 5'7". His name seems to be a play-on pun of kata, a method of martial arts.

Wulph

Wulph is the authoritative leader of the Army of the Dragon Down City Crew. He likes to have the last word and makes sure that nothing happens to those he believes he's responsible for. He usually works with more than one of his crewmembers in several situations, but if it's one man, it's Trakkyrr or Ferryt. His dragon is Hyve, a sly purple draconium Pack-class dragon.

Wulph tends to dislike his opinions and suggestions being criticized and/or taken for granted, especially when other people try influencing him to change his decisions. At times, he tends to take situations that don't concern him into his hands, and usually sends tracking dragons after those unsuspecting to it. Before, he worked for Word Paynn, but now it seems only an interesting prospect will sway him back, as now his crew works and thinks for themselves.

Wulph has lime green hair and indigo eyes, with a scar across his right eye. His outfit is purple and gold, and he is 5'5" tall and 17 years old. His name seems to be a play-on pun of the animal wolf.

Reepyr

Reepyr is the human leader of the legendary Prophets Crew, controlled by Propheci. The Prophets once helped the original Dragon Booster, but they are now against him. Reepyr is being controlled by the orange draconium Control-class dragon Propheci, the lethal dragon leader of the Prophets.

Reepyr is used by Propheci until the Dragon Booster and his friends take on the challenge of the Track of Doom. It is then that Propheci decides to work together with humans and dragons, but Reepyr stays under Propheci’s influence. It is later than Propheci decides to imprison Reepyr and the other human Prophets. Reepyr acts rather troubled, and will stop at nothing to cease the dangerous orange dragons from gaining control of Dragon City.

Reepyr has rather greenish skin, red hair and dark-colored eyes, and wears an orange suit. He is 17 years old and is 5'6" tall. His name is a play-on pun of reaper, a name used to describe a killer.

Pyrrah

Pyrrah is the fiery leader of the dangerous Down City Dragon Flares Crew. Her dragon, Phorrj, is a red draconium Magma-class dragon with the same temperamental attitude as his rider.

Pyrrah is one to be reckoned with. She is rather fair and does not play dirty, sometimes being temperamental, but thus far, most of the times we have seen Pyrrah, she is unwittingly being used by Word Paynn in one way or another (in "Into the Fire", Word takes control of her with a black mind control pod to try and seize Artha Penn's dragon). As a result, we have yet to see what her "true colors" are and whether she is friend, foe, or neutral to the Dragon Booster's cause. She uses a strange weapon ((Many have dubbed it a "mag saw" because of the resemblence)) that generates red draconium energy and has a little brother named Sparkk.

Pyrrah wears a purple suit and a red coat with a flame design. She has grayish-purple eyes and flaring red hair. She’s 17 years old and her height is 5'5".

Phistus

The brawny Phistus is the leader of the Grip of the Dragon Down City Crew, and also leads the Down City Crew Council of Twelve. He gets irritated with the constant chaos between Down City crews, and longs to resolve this. His green draconium Bull-class dragon, Brutaris, is very much like him, a strong figure with a good heart.

Phistus strongly believes that the Down City crews need to insure peace between each other, however, with Moordryd and Word interfering, he needs the help of other crews and the Dragon Booster to stop this problem. His temper rises rather quickly if he’s extremely annoyed, and he tries to maintain order in the Council, and will use force if necessary. He carries a large hammer built of green draconium and is a great jouster, as are most of his Grip of the Dragon crew members.

Phistus wears a green suit and has a tattoo on his right arm, and armor bands on his left. He has brown eyes, and is at age 18 with a height of 6'2".

Stewardd

Stewardd is the leader of the secretive Keepers crew, who once helped the original Dragon Booster three thousand years ago. Stewardd may be small, but when it comes to hiding and being swift on your feet, depend on him. His dragon is Gunny, a light green draconium Scavenger-class dragon.

Stewardd is stealthy and skillful at sneaking around and hiding, making it nearly impossible to catch him unless he slows down. Like Parm, he tinkers around with gear and can invent new devices, gadgets, objects and items that come in handy when needed. He seems to carry equipment helpful for escaping wherever he goes, and he tends to be extremely unsettled at the slightest hint of trouble, speaking hasty words that you can hardly make out.

The tiny Stewardd wears colorful clothing, has blue hair, pointy ears and wears thermal goggles on his eyes. He is at a young age of 15 years old and is 5'3". (However, this seems inaccurate; Lance is slightly taller than Stewardd.) Stewardd seems to be a play-on pun of the word stewart, as in a helper of a knight, or steward.

Kawake

The leader of the Will of the Dragon crew and a previous champion in Dragball, Kawake is kind and considerate, but he had to quit Dragball because of an incident which physically disabled him. His dragon is Rumbull (or Aftershock, according to the central website), who is the strongest brown draconium Earth’class dragon in Dragon City.

Kawake was paralyzed from the legs down in a horrible Dragon Racing accident in which another racer crashed into him head-on , therefore he is apprehensive of being judged by others about his paralysis and abilities. He favors Brown Entrenching Gear, and he can easily be taken advantage of when he feels negative. Though paralyzed legs down, he is still strong enough to keep a large support from crashing.

Kawake uses a wheelchair when he’s off his dragon, and has dark skin and red eyes. (As for now, his height and his age is unknown, though his age may be predicted more easily due to the fact that he knew Conner Penn and since Moordryd called him an old man.) His name seems to be a play-on pun of quake.

Marianis

The very slender Marianis is the leader of the slick Dragon Fish Down City crew. She tends to be slippery in situations until she gets caught, using the attack and defensive methods her crew specializes in. She works with Dorsall, another well-known Dragon Fish member. Her dragon is Poseidos, a Nautilus-class light blue (or aqua) draconium dragon.

Marianis acts coy at times, but first impressions are nothing when we’re talking about her. She is rather intelligent, and tends to pick up gossip, rumors and other loose conversation that float around, true or false (and to her advantage, mostly true). She’s one of the first to try and rebel against Moordryd and his Dragon Eyes crew, and has joined sides with the Dragon Booster, working to stop Word and his plans for a dragon-human war.

Marianis has aqua-colored hair tied back into a swirling ponytail, and magenta eyes. Her height and age are unknown at this time.

Vociferous

Vociferous is the sly, smooth-taking leader of the distrustful Voice of the Dragon Down City Crew (and at some times, assumes the identity of a director). Like Moordryd and his Dragon Eyes, Vociferous and his Voices will use deceptive tactics, but to blind others instead of rousing a high level of suspicion. He works together with Spynn, a female lieutenant of the Voices (and at some times, behind the camera). His dragon is Swavy, a heavyweight Sonic-class turquoise draconium dragon.

Vociferous loves to fool around and have his fun by making people humiliate and embarrass themselves. His deception and manipulation have slipped around without much suspicion, and he takes advantage of a situation whenever he has the chance. He is quick-witted, but is impatient and incompetent, therefore leading to problems in both physical and social skills. He fights with a mag-staff and is skilled in acrobatics.

Vociferous seems to like setting new fashion trends with his turquoise and blue clothes, and has a bit of an elfish look to him. He has spiky pink hair and green eyes, and his height and age are unknown. (He seems to be as tall as Parm, however, this shows in an episode where Artha’s height differs from Parm’s. He tends to act slightly more mature than Artha or Moordryd, so he may be older than 16.)

His name is from a play-off of the word vociferous, meaning "a loud or noisy cry; talkative"

Rivett

Rivett is the mysterious and unpredictable crew member of the Mechanists, a Down City crew that make their living in worktown. He gives and sells rare and dangerous gray gear to unsuspecting racers and leaps around Dragon City unnoticed. According to him, Libris was his dragon. (More on Libris in List of Dragons in Dragon Booster.)

Rivett is devious and shifty. He tends to be working on two sides at the same time, thus misleading those who trust him. He fears what will happen if Libris is controlled, as he claims there is more than one gray dragon living on the planet. Rivett cannot be trusted, as he steals objects of great worth here and there when he gets the chance. He can disable the gray gear he gives away if he is unhappy with the customer, and can also turn invisible with the help of his human shadow gear.

Rivett wears a gray outfit with a dark cloak. He has red eyes and blond hair (slightly unnatural for most citizens in Dragon City). His height and his age is unknown as for now.

His name is derived from either the word 'Rivet', which is a tool used to fasten things such as Machinery, or from Gail Rivett, an executive with Alliance Atlantis.

Armeggaddon

Armeggaddon was from three thousand years ago, and was probably an enemy to the original Dragon Booster. He was imprisoned in the Shadow Track until Artha, Lance and Moordryd broke the spell that encased riders and dragons inside the track. (See "Faster Than Fear"; a shadowy figure passes by Artha’s visor.)

Armeggaddon chooses Moordryd to be "The One" to defeat the Dragon Booster, and presents him with a black draconium amulet, similar to the symbol of the Dragon Eyes. It is believed that he himself is the amulet, since he speaks through it to Moordryd. Armeggaddon is similar to Mortis, and teaches Moordryd the ancient ways of power.

Armeggaddon could possibly have been the Emperor or leader of the Black Dragon Eye Empire. As of now, Armeggaddon is nothing more than shadow, and his fiery, non-human eyes are his only trait. His race is unknown.

Drakkus

Drakkus is a powerful warrior that the Dragon Booster must face in "The Return of Drakkus - Part I & II". He wears an ancient armour, it is unkown how he acquired it. The armour belonged to an ancient warrior that existed 3000 years ago. Drakkus is able to use a powerful technique known as Mag-Claw as can Mortis.

Drakkus regards the Dragon Booster as weak and untrained. His main goal appears to be to destroy the Dragon Booster and use the Dragon of Legend to its full ability. Drakkus was defeated by the Dragon Booster when he learnt to release the dragon and the human. He fled and it is likely he will return to exact his vengence on the Dragon Booster and Mortis.

Drakkus rides a very large black draconium dragon similiar to Abandonn except his design is black and dark green with a red stomach. It is possible this dragon is actually Abandonn.

Drakkus wears a red, purple and black armour with lightning desgins on it and a helmet that covers his entire face with a gem in the forehead and glowing yellow eyes.

(It is possible Drakkus is Word Paynn for many reasons. First off is that he refers to Mortis as his old friend as did Word Paynn refer to Connor as an old friend. He can control Wraith Dragons and he possesses a dragon almost exactly like Abandonn.

Also as he is about to remove Artha's armour, he says "Let us finally see who is under there", implying he has known the Dragon Booster for some time and wondered who he is. Another factor is Word would of have learnt the Mag-Claw technique from the priests as did Connor. Finally Drakkus has the same voice actor as Word Paynn)

Captain Faier

Captain Faier is the head of Dragon City Security, Dragon City’s main authorities. He takes action whenever the city is threatened and tries to maintain order as best as he could. Faier and Dragon City Security highly respect the Dragon Booster, and any other person with good intentions and a will to protect Dragon City.

Faier has pink hair and brown eyes and wears a blue Dragon City Security uniform. His height and age are unknown. His name seems to have some relation to Ken Faier, who works on the show.

Race Marshall Budge

There doesn’t seem to be much information about Race Marshall Budge, besides the fact that he announces the many races and competitions that take place in Dragon City. Budge also seems to wander the Mid-City streets sometimes. He has white hair, is rather overweight and looks elderly. (His height and exact age are unknown.)

Zulay Paynn

Not much has been revealed about Zulay, besides the fact that she is the wife of Word and the mother of Moordryd. It is only known that she is a fearless rider, and has ventured into the Shadow Track and was the last to escape from it. Her appearance is unknown, as is her age and height and any other detail. Whether she is dead or alive is uncertain.

Sentrus

The sophisticated and devious Academy scout Sentrus chooses racers for the Elite Racing Academy. She takes an interest those who show intimate and astounding skills, and not only with racing methods alone, but with a racer's other techniques, such as gear choice and advanced knowledge. Sentrus craves highly experienced racers who have proven their spot in the Racing Academy, and at times will bring up challenges to thicken the tension between racers.

Sentrus has white hair and grey eyes, and wears a cyan dress. Her height and age are unknown (though she is rather tall). Due to her appearance, there is some speculation that she may be Zulay Paynn, wife of Word and mother of Moordryd, but that has not been cleared up.

Tannis the Wise

Not much is also known about Tannis. He is the Dragon Priest mentor of Connor Penn in the Ancient Order, and gives Connor the star amulet. He also warns Connor about a prophecy, explaining that another dragon-human war would start, unless a dragon bred back from legend chooses a rider to become the Dragon Booster.
