Jonas Petter Renkse (born 19 May 1975) is a founding member, songwriter, lead vocalist (1991-1994, 1997-) and ex-drummer (1991-1994, 1996-1998) of the band, Katatonia[3][4] founding member, songwriter, bassist, backing vocalist and ex-guitarist (2004) of the band, Bloodbath[5] and Member of the Band, Sailors With Wax Wings[6]. He was also the founding member, ex-drummer, ex-vocalist, ex-guitarist & ex-songwriter of the band, October Tide.[7]
History
In 1995, Katatonia was put on a halt due to not having a suitable lineup in which, he decided to form October Tide.
In 1996, Jonas, performance of death vocals had taken its toll in which he decided by 1997, he would just sing instead. By 1998, Jonas now had decided he would strictly focus on vocals and abandon, drums.
Renkse wanted to guest on The Ocean's album, Precambrian but due to Katatonia's touring schedule during the production, The Ocean was not able to approach him on time.
Personal Life
He is best friends with guitarist, Mikael Akerfeldt of the band Opeth.[8] Jonas has a Son.[9]
