Real name
The very first episode of Gilligan's Island lists the full character names in the shows ending credits. FYI - The Skipper's name is Johnas Grumby.
Yeah, we knew the skipper's name. As far as I'm concerned, though, the section of this -- and the pointer from the disambig page -- are both inaccurate. By the general rules of canonicity for broadcast television, Gilligan's first name is as yet unknown, and we should probably say so. --Baylink (talk) 04:52, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's a little strange that he should go by his last name only. I can't think of a single person who does that.74.100.60.53 (talk)
