Is a motion picture with an international cast by the producers Robert Hofferer and Lukas Sturm as well as the co-producer PULS4 from 2011. Lukas Sturm directed the movie and also wrote the script. Asli Bayram impersonates the leading role.

Synopsis

The enthralling thriller deals with the search of a female journalist from Vienna for a young woman in Bosnia. She had traveled to Sarajevo and had tried to arrange her father's funeral in his native village. Her father was found in a mass grave. Thereupon the woman had disappeared without a trace. Both, the journalist as well as her TV crew become tangled up in this case.

Background

The movie deals with the impact of the Bosnian war on society, which is observable until nowadays. The so-called ethnic cleansing during this cruel war in the center of Europe happened in the sphere of influence of two men: Former politician Radovan Karadžić, accused of being a war criminal, and former general Ratko Mladić, who was caught during the shooting of this movie. Mladić is being held responsible for the mass murder of at least 6.000 unarmed Bosnian civilians in Screbrenica in July 1995- the worst massacre on European soil since Word War II. The story of the movie is set in this historical background.

The filming of the motion picture mainly took place at authenitc settings in Sarajevo and its surroundings. The former Bosnian commander and important defender of Sarajevo, Misrad Catić, acted as advisor for military history and appeared in a guest role. Research assistants under the supervision of Dr. Dr. Kathryne Bomberger from icmp (International Commission on Missing Persons) in Sarajevo gave the producers and actors advice concerning forensic anthropology and DNA identification of the victims found in the mass graves. The organisation „Wives of Screbrenica“, regularly staging demonstrations to ensure that the search for lost men, children and relatives will continue, travelled to Sarajevo to play a part in one of the key scenes of the film. The producers have signed an international cast. The leading part as a journalist is imposingly embodied by the Asli Bayram. Bayram, a German actress living in Vienna and London has already caused a worldwide stir for her performance in Anne Frank. Senad Bašić who is well known in the Balkans embodies the quiet cameraman at her side, who proves to be a great friend at the moment of bitter truth.

The american actor from New York Broadway, James Hallet and Jan Henrik Stahlberg from Berlin as well as Anne Mertin from Vienna (she has already worked with Ingmar Bergman) are acting in a very authentical way as icmp scientists.

Miraj Gribić worked with Richard Gere for „Hunting Party“ in 2007 and 2011 with Tom Cruise in Mission Possible IV. He embodies the ultimate evil in collaboration with Adnan Haskovic, Amel Becić plays Bojan, a deaf boy, and was selected out of 100 boys.

Sahin Sisić, a Cannes award-winner, filmed with the camera system ARRI Alexa. Jasmin Duraković, the line-producer, organised everything with highest perfection although the conditions in Bosnia were often rather difficult, and consulted the producers in many questions of details. Lukas Sturm, who has already won a „Golden Romy“, directed the film and also wrote the script. The producerRobert Hofferer who manages André Heller and the leading actress Asli Bayram decided to produce this film with Lukas Sturm as well as with PULS4 and they only used private financing, so that any possible politically motivated influence could be excluded. The film is based on an idea of Lukas Sturm und Robert Hofferer.
