The Nintendo eShop is an online service for the Nintendo 3DS. It features a cash-based system instead of the points based system used with the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DSi.[1] It was released via firmware update on June 6, 2011 in North America and June 7, 2011 in Europe and Japan.[2] The Nintendo eShop features the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, and TurboGrafx-16 Virtual Console, NES and SNES "3D Classics" games, and most DSiWare games. It will also give information on retail games, and have trailers available to watch.[3] A Spotpass update released on Monday 6th June 2011 let users know of the update and the features that come with it.
3D Classics: Excitebike, a "3D Classic" title,[4] and Pokédex 3D[5] are available as a free download for a limited time until July 7, 2011.
