Ryan Cole Lavarnway (born August 7, 1987 in Burbank, California) is an American professional baseball catcher with the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball.

Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 6th round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft, Lavarnway is a top hitting prospect in the Sox organization. In 2011, he has split the season with Class AA Portland and Class AAA Pawtucket, playing 55 games with the Sea Dogs then being promoted for 55 games with the PawSox. Overall, he has 30 home runs and 85 RBIs this season.

On August 18, 2011, Lavarnway was called up to the Red Sox; he filled the roster spot of Kevin Youkilis, who went on the disabled list.
