Was this show inspired by "The Practice"?
In the 1970's, Danny Thomas starred in a short-lived sitcom called "The Practice." He played an elderly doctor whose patients were mostly lower middle-class (if my memory serves me correctly). I've always been struck by the similarities between that show and "Becker": grumpy doctor, sassy nurse, dimwitted receptionist, etc. Even the names of the doctors were similar (Danny Thomas' character was named "Jules Bedford"). Are these similarities coincidental, or was "Becker" a retooled version of "The Practice"?67.237.189.239 (talk) 17:52, 20 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.73.64.148 (talk) 01:58, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
