Kongsberg Maritime AS (KM) is a Norwegian company established in 1998.[1] It is a subsidiary company of Kongsberg Gruppen (KOG), and it produces systems for positioning, surveying, navigation and automation to merchant vessels and offshore installations. Its products include dynamic positioning systems, marine automation and surveillance systems, process automation, satellite navigation and hydroacoustics.

History

Its history dates back to the founding of Autronica in 1957. The first alarm system was ready in 1959.

In 2011, Kongsberg Maritime AS claimed[4] that they had acquired Evotec AS, while an online database of Dagens Næringsliv lists other owners — and Erlend Haugsbø as chairman.[5] Kongsberg Evotec AS was the new name of the company in December 2011.[6][7] It is not registered as a "state owned company" (statlig eide aksjeselskaper mv) in the same manner that the subsidiaries (and their subsidiaries) of Kongsberg Gruppen are registered with Entity Registry (Norway).[8]
