Lakemont, Washington
Lakemont is a neighborhood located on the western face of Cougar Mountain and is often used to refer to many of the communities on Cougar Mountain centered around Lakemont Park and Lewis Creek Park. The majority of Lakemont is located within the city limits of Bellevue, Washington (ZIP 98006) but part of it also falls within Issaquah, Washington (ZIP 98027).[1] The neighborhood falls fully within the Issaquah School District. Some sections within the Lakemont Community Association include Brighton, Longshadow Ridge, Wyngate, Woodcroft, Greystone, Findley Court, Silverleaf, Vuemont Meadows, Collingwood, Sky Mountain, Stratford, and Chandler Park. There is one small shopping center in Lakemont with a variety of stores.
Zoo

The Cougar Mountain Zoo is a zoological park founded in 1972 by Peter and Marcie Rittler at the base of Cougar Mountain on an 8 acre plot of land. It's located right of I-90 in a residential neighborhood. Its main attractions inculude a cougar named Nashi and it's Bengal Tigers. The Bengal tigers, Taj and Almos, were introduced to the zoo on July 16, 2007. The zoo curently has four Begal Tigers, since two cubs have joind Taj and Almos. The zoo also hosts the Reindeer Festival in the holiday season where "magical reindeer" and "Santa" visit Cougar Mountain.[2]
Schools
Lakemont has some schools in and very close to neighborhoods. Cougar Ridge Elementary School is one of them. It is located in Vuemont/Sky Mountain on a side-street of Village Park Drive. The school was created in 1992 to divert Cougar Mountain kids from Sunset Elementary. In 2000, the school recieved a Blue Ribbon School award.The school is currently one of the best academic elementary schools. In Collingwood, there is a K-12 private school called Hillside Student Community. The school itself only has a student body of 42 and the average class size is 6. There is also a private kindergarden/Pre-K and daycare called Lakemont Academy.
