Lughaya is a hot and dry coastal town on the Guban coast in the Awdal province of [[Somaliland,a self-declared Republic that split away from war torn and pirate infested Somalia.
Location
Lughaya is located about 200 km to the north of Berbera and about 50 km south of the main port of Djibouti (city). It is the biggest town in the Lughaya District.
Demographics
The people of Lughaya district are mostly nomads and farmers. The entire district has a population of around 75,000 with the majority belonging to the Maxamed Case sub-clan of the Gadabuursi clan.[1]
