Michigan Wikipedians (or MWiki) is a Wikipedia student organization at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The group was the first student Wikipedia club in the United States.[1] The club is open to all students of the University of Michigan.

History

The group was founded in August 2010 by student MichChemGSI as the Wikipedians of the University of Michigan. It was the first student Wikipedia club in the United States.[1] In Fall 2010 the group was visited by Frank Schulenburg, head of public outreach for the Wikimedia Foundation.[2]

In July 2011, the group changed its name to Michigan Wikipedians.

  • May 1, 2011 - The 2011-2012 Editing Challenge has commenced!
  • April 18, 2011 - New board members for the 2011-2012 year have been selected.
  • April 12, 2011 - The 2011 Editing Challenge has ended, resulting in two winners!
  • February 10, 2011 - MWiki Annual Trivia Night! Information Link
  • February 1, 2011 - The 2011 Editing Challenge has commenced!
